This is what a recipient sees.
When someone scans a Licit Note QR code, a page like this opens in their browser. The result comes straight from Licit Note’s verification service, not from the note itself.
- The result comes first: whether the note is valid, older, revoked, or not found.
- Then the minimum: initials and surname, any days off, the doctor, the clinic, and when it was issued.
- Never the patient’s ID number, phone number, or the reason for the visit.
In this sample, dates appear as Day 1 to Day 3. A real check shows the actual dates. A real check opens on Licit Note’s verification service at app.licitnote.com. This sample is on licitnote.co.za and doesn’t use the real service.

Valid, older note
This note is more than 5 days old. It was genuinely issued and has not been revoked. Older notes are marked this way rather than removed.
Unfit for work or school
D. Patient is unfit to attend work or school for 3 days, from Day 1 to Day 3 (inclusive).
